Octagonal Emerald Carre Cut Baguette Diamond White Gold Pendant
The inspiration for this piece is distinctly architectural. The parallel lines of the long thin baguette on the top with the square of the carre cut diamond, then the rectangular shape of the emerald have a strong art deco feel.
The shape and cut of these stones particularly the “baguette” were re-invented in deco times, Cartier were mainly responsible for the popularity of the stone. The emerald is a Zambian stone of fine quality with a strong intense colour. The skyscrapers of 1920-30s New York are a perfect example of the architectural feel of this piece….
